Spotting Different Types of Poker Players

It's important to place players in their playing styles - to determine the types of poker players at the table. If we do this we would be able to take advantage of the opponent's routines and collect from the player or protect our chip stack from onslaughts.

First, we take note of a player's betting pattern. It always starts and ends with the betting patterns. Personal propensities are often measured by how people look and behave what their clothing preferences are. These are helpful, but what we really need is how people tend to use their poker chips at the table. This reveals the types of poker players around us.

Poker players often belong to one of several types of poker players: most basic are the loose and the tight players. As we play more games and in various venues, we'd identify variations from the basic and help us easily classify the types of poker players were up against at any table. Let's start with very loose players. They love betting and calling even with weak hands. They typically lack patience and always want some piece of the action. Waiting on hold to them is being a weakling player.

Loose passives are the type of poker players who love to call and thus earn the label "call stations." They call with weak hands and bets low. They sit at tables just to be counted in, not really win well, and leave when the tables are just getting warm. They would not raise even strong hands. Loose aggressives, on the other hand, dare make raises, sometimes with foolish bluffs, and also bets ridiculously high. They are the type of poker players who lose patience when made to wait long.

Players with too loose playing styles should be played against with really strong hands coupled with sharp scrutiny, and more patience. Loose passives are the type of poker players who easily give in to the pressure of large betting while loose aggressive types may be pressured to annoyance with slow-playing. Loose players often contribute to the pot considerably so don't get rid of them fast.

Another type of poker players are the very tight ones. They're motto is: "I shall not be moved." They are so jealous of their chips so that rare are the occasions when they call - and they make sure they have very strong hands when they do call.

The types of poker players that surround the table are important to discern for a better wining chance.
